The Reef Magic Great Barrier Reef tour takes guests to the Reef Magic pontoon at Moore Reef on the Outer Great Barrier Reef.

After a fast 90-minute boat transfer from Cairns, guests spend five hours exploring the reef. Activities include snorkeling, glass bottom boat and semi-sub tours, and a marine biologist presentation. Guests can also visit the underwater observatory, enjoy a tropical buffet lunch, and relax on the sundeck. Optional upgrades include introductory and certified diving, guided snorkel tours, and helmet diving. The pontoon has shaded areas, showers, change rooms, and is wheelchair accessible.

Itinerary

Cairns Marlin Marina Check-In
Check in at Cairns Marlin Marina, 1 Spence Street, at 08:15 before departure.

Transfer to Moore Reef
The tour departs Cairns at 09:00. Travel 90 minutes by fast catamaran to the Outer Reef.

Reef Magic Pontoon Activities
Arrive at the pontoon around 10:30 and spend five hours exploring the reef. Guests can snorkel, take semi-submarine and glass bottom boat tours, listen to a marine biologist talk, and view marine life from the underwater observatory. A buffet lunch is served, with additional areas for relaxation and freshwater showers available.

Return to Cairns
Depart Moore Reef at 15:30 and return to Cairns by 17:00.

What To Bring
When packing for a reef tour, think of it as preparing for a day at the beach. Recommended items include swimmers, sunscreen, sunglasses,  a hat, a water bottle, and dry clothes for after your aquatic adventures. If you plan on snorkeling, wearing a rashie can be beneficial as it provides sun protection without the need for excessive sunscreen. Don't forget to bring a towel and your swimsuit. With these items, you'll be ready to enjoy your day exploring the beautiful Great Barrier Reef.
