Last Minute Fitzroy Island Ferry Options

The Fitzroy Island Flyer is a fast and comfortable ferry service from Cairns to Fitzroy Island. The catamaran takes about 45 minutes and travels between the Marlin Marina and Welcome Bay. Travellers can choose between full-day, morning half-day, and afternoon half-day schedules. Optional extras include a buffet breakfast, burger and drink package, and lycra suit hire for marine safety during stinger season. Activities on the island include snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, and more.

Full Day Option
Departs Cairns at 8:00am and returns from Fitzroy Island at 5:00pm.
Spend the full day enjoying Fitzroy Island’s beaches, snorkeling, or joining a walk to the Secret Garden or Lighthouse Summit. Optional extras include breakfast at Zephyr or lunch at Foxy’s Bar. Water activities can be booked through the Fitzroy Island Sports Hub.

Half Day Morning
Departs Cairns at 8:00am and returns from Fitzroy Island at 12:15pm.
A good choice for those wanting a morning beach trip. Enjoy a walk, snorkel or relax by the water. Fish feeding is available at 11:30am on the Jetty.

Half Day Afternoon
Departs Cairns at 1:30pm and returns from Fitzroy Island at 5:00pm.
Spend the afternoon exploring the island, enjoying a late lunch or trying out water sports. Fish feeding is also held at 4:00pm.

Turtle Rehabilitation Centre Talks run daily at 1:00pm, 1:45pm, and 2:30pm for 30 minutes.

Please make your way directly to the Fitzroy Flyer to check-in.
Proceed directly down Marlin Wharf 'A Finger' from the Reef Fleet Terminal and turn left at the end. The Flyer Departs halfway down on your right, Berth 20.

Please arrive a minimum of 30 minutes prior to departure from Cairns.
