Itinerary
Coles Bay Boat Ramp
Guests check in at Coles Bay Boat Ramp on Garnet Avenue in Coles Bay, Tasmania. After boarding, the vessel leaves Coles Bay and travels across Great Oyster Bay. The cruise gives views of the Hazards mountain range and the Freycinet Peninsula coastline.
Cruise to Hazards Beach
The vessel makes a brief stop at Hazards Beach for passengers booked on that transfer. This part of the trip takes about 30 minutes from Coles Bay. Hazards Beach is a common access point for walkers using the Freycinet Peninsula walking tracks.
Cruise to Cooks Beach
After the Hazards Beach stop, the vessel continues south along the coastline to Cooks Beach. This section takes about 15 minutes. Guests may see seals, dolphins and seabirds along the way, depending on conditions and wildlife movement on the day.
Cooks Beach
Cooks Beach is a remote beach and camping area within Freycinet National Park. It is a common overnight stop for walkers completing the Freycinet Peninsula Circuit. Campsites are limited and cannot be reserved, so availability is not guaranteed.
A basic toilet is available at Cooks Beach, but there are no other facilities. Campers must bring all food, water, shelter, safety equipment and personal items. Fires are not permitted.
Return or Walking Options
Guests can return to Coles Bay by water taxi on the same day, book a return transfer for a different day, or book a one-way transfer and walk back via the Freycinet Peninsula Circuit. Weather, tides and sea conditions may affect landing at Cooks Beach. If the vessel cannot safely land, walkers must be prepared to walk out via Hazards Beach or return to the Wineglass Bay Lookout carpark by walking track.
