The boat trip to Hazards Beach takes about 30 minutes. The route follows the granite coastline of Great Oyster Bay, with views of the Hazards mountain range and the Freycinet Peninsula. Local guides share information about the region’s history, wildlife and geology during the trip. Guests may see seals, seabirds, dolphins and, during migration season, whales.

Hazards Beach Landing

The vessel lands close to shore at Hazards Beach. Guests may get wet feet when stepping off the boat, so suitable footwear is recommended. Hazards Beach is the starting point for several walking routes through Freycinet National Park.

Isthmus Track to Wineglass Bay

Wineglass Bay

At Wineglass Bay, guests can spend time on the beach, have a picnic, swim if conditions suit, or rest before beginning the return walk to Coles Bay. Guests should bring food, water, sunscreen and beach gear, as there are no supplied facilities as part of this transfer.

Return Walk to Coles Bay

This is a one-way boat transfer, so guests return to Coles Bay on foot. Walking options include the Hazards Circuit, which is a longer coastal route, or the Wineglass Bay Lookout Track, which includes a steeper climb and views over Wineglass Bay and the Freycinet coastline.
