Itinerary
Wineglass Bay Cruises Booking Office
Guests check in at the Wineglass Bay Cruises Booking Office at 61 Jetty Road, Coles Bay. The cruise departs from Coles Bay and returns to the same location at the end of the tour.
Coles Bay and Great Oyster Bay
The cruise begins in Coles Bay and travels through the waterways surrounding Freycinet National Park. Guests can see the granite coastline and the Hazards range as the vessel moves away from Coles Bay.
Cooks Beach and Bryans Beach
The route passes beaches including Cooks Beach and Bryans Beach. These beaches are reached by water or by a full-day bushwalk, so the cruise gives guests a way to view this part of the Freycinet Peninsula coastline from the vessel.
Schouten Island Passage
The cruise explores the inner passage near Schouten Island. This area is home to seabirds including little penguins and short-tailed shearwaters. Guests may also see cormorants on the rocks and other birdlife around the passage.
Tasman Sea Coastline
The vessel continues towards the Tasman Sea and the coastline leading to Wineglass Bay. Along this section, guests can look for sea caves, blowholes, waterfalls and granite cliffs. Wildlife sightings may include dolphins, sea eagles, cormorants and Australian fur seals.
Wineglass Bay
The cruise reaches Wineglass Bay, where guests can view the beach and bay from the water. This gives a different view of one of Freycinet National Park’s known locations, with the white sand beach and clear water seen from the vessel.
Wildlife Viewing
The waters around Freycinet National Park support a range of wildlife. Guests may see dolphins, sea eagles, cormorants, albatross, shearwaters, diving gannets, little penguins and Australian fur seals. Humpback whales and southern right whales may be seen during migration periods from May to July and September to December.
