Itinerary
Launceston pick up and drive via Evandale and Campbell Town
Pick up is from select Launceston locations. The tour departs Launceston and travels through the Georgian townships of Evandale and Campbell Town. In Campbell Town there is a short stop to buy lunch to take for the day. During this stop, guests can walk part of the Convict Brick Trail, see the Red Bridge, and view the tree sculptures that tell stories from the town’s history.
Great Oyster Bay Lookout stop
After Campbell Town, the tour continues to Tasmania’s East Coast. The group stops at Great Oyster Bay Lookout for views across the bay and the surrounding coastline. There is also an opportunity to purchase fresh oysters.
Arrive at Freycinet National Park
On arrival in Freycinet National Park, the group begins a series of walks and sightseeing in the park. The main walk is to Wineglass Bay Lookout, with an option to extend the walk to Wineglass Bay Beach.
Wineglass Bay Lookout walk
The group walks together to Wineglass Bay Lookout. This is a moderate uphill walk that usually takes around 45 minutes. The climb is about 1.3 km uphill. At the lookout, there is time to take photos and see the view over Wineglass Bay before returning downhill.
Choose your walking option
From Wineglass Bay Lookout, guests can return to the trailhead with the guide, or continue down to Wineglass Bay Beach and return.
Option 1: Return from the lookout and continue exploring Freycinet
Guests who choose the shorter walk return from the lookout with the guide and visit other parts of Freycinet National Park. Stops can include Honeymoon Bay and Cape Tourville Lighthouse.
Option 2: Wineglass Bay Beach walk
Guests who choose the longer walk continue down to Wineglass Bay Beach. This is a return walk that usually takes around 2.5 hours and requires adequate fitness. On the beach there is time for lunch, a swim if conditions suit, or a walk along the sand before returning the same way.
Cape Tourville Lighthouse Walk
The Cape Tourville Lighthouse Walk is an easy walk of around 20 minutes with coastal views. This is included as part of the Freycinet sightseeing time for guests on the shorter walking option, and may also be visited depending on the day’s timing for the group.
Devil’s Corner winery site stop
Before heading back to Launceston, the tour stops at Devil’s Corner winery site for views over the East Coast and Freycinet area. On site, guests can purchase items such as wine tasting, wood fired pizza, seafood, oysters from Freycinet Marine Farm, coffee, and ice cream.
Return to Launceston
The tour returns to Launceston at around 6:00pm with drop off to select locations.

This tour includes walking in National Park terrain. The Wineglass Bay Lookout walk is moderate and requires good mobility and fitness. The Wineglass Bay Beach option is longer and also requires adequate fitness.
The tour operates in outdoor conditions and is subject to the weather on the day.
Guests are briefed on Minimal Impact Bushwalking and Leave No Trace practices before entering National Parks. Wildlife is viewed from appropriate distances and activities stay on formed tracks and boardwalks.
