Cairns to Atherton Tablelands
Pick-up in Cairns between 7.15am and 7.45am. First stop is Walsh’s Pyramid for a photo, then travel through Goldsborough Valley up the Gillies Highway with a stop at Heales Lookout for scenic views.
Lake Barrine
Visit Crater Lakes National Park. A short guided walk highlights the 1000-year-old twin kauri pines. Morning tea is served at the Lake Barrine Teahouse, with options to relax or take a short rainforest walk.
Yungaburra and Curtain Fig Tree
Drive through Yungaburra with commentary on its heritage buildings and history. At Curtain Fig Tree, join a boardwalk tour to learn about the unique rainforest tree and look for local wildlife.
Malanda and Millaa Millaa Falls
Pass through Malanda and stop at Millaa Millaa Falls for a swim or relax beside the water. Lunch follows at a local restaurant.
Paronella Park
Arrive at Paronella Park for a 30-minute guided tour followed by free time to explore. Highlights include the Grand Staircase, Kauri Avenue, Teresa Falls and the suspension bridge.
Return via Babinda Boulders (if time permits)
Stop at a banana farm for optional fruit purchases. If time allows, visit Babinda Boulders for a final swim before heading back to Cairns.
