The 3 Hour Wilderness Cruise departs daily from Adventure Bay on Bruny Island. You can meet on Bruny Island or meet at Kettering and catch a shuttle bus to the meeting point.

Option 1. Self-drive to Adventure Bay on Bruny Island
Self-drive to Adventure Bay on Bruny Island and Join Robert Pennicott’s team on an unforgettable 3 Hour Wilderness Cruise. Experience Bruny Island’s rugged coastline aboard a custom-built yellow boat. Explore some of Australia’s highest sea cliffs, enter deep sea caves and join in the search for abundant coastal wildlife such as seals, dolphins, migrating whales and sea birds.

Option 2. Self-drive to Kettering & Catch the shuttle bus
Leave your car at Kettering and catch our daily tour bus, which joins up with the 3 Hour Wilderness Cruise.
Arrive by 8.30am to meet the bus at the Oyster Cove Marina in Kettering, where there is free parking available. The tour includes the 3 Hour Wilderness Cruise, ferry crossing and sightseeing on Bruny Island.

Getting There
From Hobart, you'll need to drive 45 minutes south to the Bruny Island Ferry Terminal in Kettering. We suggest arriving at the ferry terminal 30 minutes prior to the ferry departure. The ferry crossing takes 20 minutes and once you're on Bruny Island, it's a 40 minute drive south to our visitor centre at 1005 Adventure Bay Road, Adventure Bay. 

From Hobart, follow Davey Street onto the Southern Outlet (Highway A6) towards Kingston. Follow the signs to the Bruny Island Ferry. This will take you along the Channel Highway through Margate, Snug and Oyster Cove before arriving in Kettering.  Once you have arrived in Kettering, you will need to turn left onto Ferry Road. The ferry terminal is at the end of Ferry Road.

The Bruny Island Ferry is operated by SeaLink. Bookings are currently not required and tickets can be purchased when you arrive at the ferry terminal. Ferry times are subject to change so please double check the timetable before you travel.

10:00am Cruise (1 Dec to 28 Apr)

  • Catch 7:30, 8:00, 8:30 Ferry from Kettering
  • Check in by 9:30am, Cruise 10am to 1pm

11:00am Cruise (All Year)

  • Catch 8:30, 9:00, 9:30 Ferry from Kettering
  • Check in by 10.30am, Cruise 11am to 2pm

1:30pm Cruise (1 Dec to 28 Apr)

  • Catch 11:30 or 12:00 Ferry from Kettering
  • Check in by 1pm, Cruise 1:30pm to 4:30pm

Option 2: Bus from Kettering Bus Pickup +  3 Hour Cruise 

  • Duration: 8¼ Hours (8:30am - 4:45pm)

  • 08:30am - Arrive at our Kettering Meeting Point (Oyster Cove Marina)
  • 09:00am - Ferry Crossing, sightseeing on Bruny Island
  • 10:30am - Arrive at Adventure Bay
  • 11:00am - 3 Hour Wilderness Cruise
  • 02:00pm - Cruise concludes
  • 03:15pm - Bus departs, sightseeing on Bruny Island
  • 04:30pm - Ferry crossing
  • 04:45pm - Arrive Kettering

Things To Bring
Make sure you dress warmly for the cruise - warm jackets, scarves, beanies and gloves are recommended. We provide wet weather jackets which go over the top of your clothing, but we encourage you to bring a few warm layers of your own. And don't forget your camera!

Lunch Options
Guests are welcome to bring their own food, or morning tea/lunch can be purchased from Bruny Island Cruises Seafood Restaurant.

Travelling with children
Children of all ages are welcome aboard our boats and we take many children along on our cruises. We have found that the majority of children enjoy the experience and love seeing the amazing wildlife, huge cliffs and caves along the Bruny coastline.
